Hello all,
After several months of development, we are happy to announce that the Service Pack 2 for Envtex is now officially available!
We would like to thank you all again for all your feedbacks and your patience, this is what allowed us to make this update being the most important ever for Envtex: many textures have been re-made from scratch, we increased the quality with to new texturing technics, we increased the maximum resolution thanks to Prepar3D v4, we added new features, new customization options, we have re-designed the Envdir user-interface and so much more !
Providing a product with a large compatibility panel is really important for us, and that is why this update is also the beginning of our collaboration the great REX team
Let's now talk about updating: you can download the new update from your SimMarket account, if you don't know how to install it, please take a look at the "How to download & install" pdf file which is also available from there.
As this update is absolutely huge (from 3Gb before to 9Gb now), it is not available through Envupdater because a full install is needed, you will be notified there is an update available from SimMarket though.
You don't need to have any older version first: the installer contains all the previous updates and hotfixes. The only thing we recommend to do is to uninstall all the previous versions of Envtex in order to delete files that became unnecessary, you will not loose your current settings in Envdir.
Also, as we stopped supporting FS2004 one year ago, we will soon make the FS9 version available as a freeware to the entire community.
Of course, previous customers of this version will keep their free update to the FSX/P3D version.
The next thing on our list is obviously Envshade which should receive a small update soon, it may be released before the end of 2018 or in early 2019. It will also receive its first service pack next year.
We have other projects as well, they should be revealed in 2019 also. Finally Envtex will be kept updated as usual and may even receive a Service Pack 3 at one point in the future, but now it's time for us to rest a bit for the rest of the year
We wish you all very nice Christmas holidays and many happy flights with Envtex !
