Information about updates and how to install them

Dear TOGA Team,

I wanted to ask how we will be informed about product updates (asked the same Q on avsim but got no answer...)?

I purchased both ENVTEX / ENVSHADE and also had to install ENVDIR. I saw here informations about releases but unfortunately none of the GUI's informed me about existing updates! Also on this forum, only ENVDIR has a release version attached (1.1.x.x....) in it's description.

Please try to get the latest version to be shown in the GUI's. It's realy hard to check n+1 websites to find out if you have the latest builds or not.

Also the Q on how to install the updates (do we have to uninstall first / install on top / etc)?

Thanks for this interesting and useful feedback.
Envtex and Envshade both have a version number in the Envdir help page. You will be advised of any update of the products by simmarket. However I agree that being aware of an Envdir updated is more complicate and much less convenient. We are testing a semi-auto updater for this. At this time you will have to launch it manually and it will check if you have the last version or not, but it may be fully automatic in the future.

About how to install the updates: for the products (Envtex and Envshade), it all depends on what we say on the mail that will advise you when an updated is available but usually a simple install over the previous one will perfectly work.
As for Envdir, installing it over the top is enough.

Sorry for not answering on avsim, I didn't see your post as I'm very busy here as you probably saw.

Unfortunately I don't get any eMails from Simmarket regarding the updates. I can't recall ever receiving any mails from SimMarket at all. Maybe I forgot to tick something during my purchase...

Nevermind about the answer on avsim...theres a lot going on there aswell.
