Launching the SIM

Does ENVDIR have to be running in the background before launching the sim?

Does it have to be launched from within ENVDIR to get the benefits of the textures? 

Or in my case also using AS2016 for p3dv4 and ASCA with ENVTEX and ENVSHADE, is running AS and ASCA enough?

Hi grayal,

No, once you have installed what you want in your sim, you can leave Envdir closed until you want to change something
Running AS and ASCA is indeed enough
